How to make Homemade Vanilla Extract!
Magically Vanilla Extract that brings everything to the next level when baking.
All you need is Vanilla bean, alcohol and time! I prefer it with vodka.
I was gifted Bourbon Vanilla - that's when my interest peaked - I can make my own Vanilla Extract. Here I use Vodka. You can use bourbon, rum or vodka.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 oz vanilla beans or 28 grams
  • 8 oz vodka, rum or bourbon or 227 grams

3 months time! or longer 6-12 for more fuller taste

Instructions
 

  • Use WHOLE vanilla beans - and it will take 6 to 12 months for the vanilla extract. OR Slice the vanilla beans with scissor or knife halved along their length for vanilla extract to be ready in 3 months.
  • Put the vanilla beans into the bottle, then cover with your choice of alcohol.
  • Store in a cool, dry and dark location for 3 months. You can do longer like 6 to 12 months for a fuller taste.
  • It's really that easy. You can reuse your vanilla beans 3-5 times for vanilla extract.
