Make Vegan Buttermilk. Mix and let sit till the end.
- 2 cups unsweetened almond milk
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
Mix dry ingredients in large bowl.
- 4 cups unbleached all-purpose flour or bread flour Bread flour is more dense and less fluffy.
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 tbsp baking powder
- 1.5 tsp sea salt or himalayan salt
Cut cold butter or alternative butter into small pieces. Mix into dry ingredients with hands.
- 1/2 cup butter or alternative butter
Mix 1/2 cup of butter milk into dry ingredients at a time. The last 1 cup do 1/4 cups and stop adding buttermilk when sticky. Stir or hand mixed till just combined. Do not mix too much.
