Cashew Cheese Ball (heart)

I love cashew cheese!!! It's a great way to have that cheesy taste, reduce your cheese intake and enjoy delicious flavors. Please try this out!
Great finger food, party addition, and fantastic with my homemade gluten-free crackers coming soon!
Prep Time 4 hours
Servings 6 people

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup raw soaked cashews soak at least 4-12 hours with cold water, OR soak in boiled water from kettle for 30 minutes.
  • 1/2 tbsp nutritional yeast - heaping spoon
  • 1/2 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1/2 tbsp water add small amounts more if needed.
  • 1 clove garlic - minced 1-2 gloves depending on how much garlic you love!
  • 1/2 tsp oregano, salt, thyme each OR dill, salt
  • 1 tbsp plain yogurt (optional) use water if vegan

Optional ingredient and fermentation option

  • 1/16 tsp probiotic powder (~40-50 billion active cells) or 1 probiotic capsule opened. OPTIONAL if doing this - add on fermentation of 12 to 24 hours of ball in a warm location. Then put in fridge.

MIX the Ingredients above in a food processor.

If adding probiotic powder - then add step of fermentation of ball - line container with cheesecloth, cloth or parchment paper not sealed. Roll into log or ball or heart.

After fermentation - roll in crushed pistachios and cranberries or pomegranates. ENJOY!
