Cauliflower is part of the cruciferous family – which means it is not only delicious – but helps our body detox by supporting the liver function.  I try to eat a few cruciferous per week. 

Miso paste is fermented soy beans, and adding fermented foods to our diet is great for our gut health. Our gut health is linked to our brain health, so a wonderful idea to have fermented foods in your diet every week, or daily if possible.

Miso Cauliflower

A great side for Holidays or any time. Miso is great cause it is a fermented food. Adding fermented foods to your diet will really help your gut health.
Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 43 minutes
Air Fryer cook time 10 minutes
Total Time 55 minutes

Servings 6 people

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cauliflower medium

In a mug or small bowl – mix sauce

  • 2 tbsp miso paste
  • 2 tbsp coconut aminos
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil or olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 thumb-size ginger grated
  • 1 tbsp tapioca flour or arrowroot flour (or cornstarch)
  • pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp maple syrup or honey

After it is baked add

  • 3 green onions scallions – sliced

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven at 375oF (190oC).
  • Cut cauliflower florets – the smaller the faster it will bake.
  • Whisk sauce ingredients together.
  • Toss cauliflower in the sauce.
  • Bake in oven for 40 min, then on broil for 1-2 minutes with no lid – watch the cauliflower on broil.
  • OR air fry for 10 min, shake half way.
