Chocolate Ganache (Fast and Delicious Frosting)

Chocolate Ganache (Fast and Delicious Frosting) for a cake, cupcakes or even eat it as a pudding! In addition, it can be a filling, dip, spread, or topping. So versatile. Two ingredients – plain chocolate – dark chocolate at 72% or darker melted and coconut cream whisked in, then cool in the fridge for 4 hours of more (at least 1 hour).

MELT THE CHOCOLATE

Here I use the double boiler method using an Anchor thick glass medium or large measuring cup in a pot with water. I like this method cause it’s quick and I don’t burn the chocolate.

Microwave option – use the bursts suggested by The Kitchn – that suggests to use 30 sec intervals then mix, then 30 sec and mix, is it melted or do you need the third 30 sec interval of microwave cooking then mix.

Whisk in the Coconut Cream

Wow this is simple – chocolate melted, now whisk in coconut cream. If you like a little salt, add a pinch.

FRIDGE to Set the Chocolate Ganache

Below in these pictures I show the difference with, if you are in a hurry the 1 hour Chocolate Ganache will be runny frosting. If you can wait for overnight in the fridge or at least 4 hours it will be thicker. The next two pictures are overnight in the fridge and two nights over night in the fridge. Above you can see how thick it looked in my container after overnight.

My new favorite Frosting! I can't believe how easy it is!
This is vegan, gluten-free, dairy free Frosting!

Ingredients
  

  • 5.4 fl. oz coconut cream can or measure
  • 6 pieces 72% chocolate 36 grams (1.26 oz)

Instructions
 

  • Double boil the chocolate pieces till melted. Use the medium size thick glass measuring cup placed in a small pot with water in it.
  • To Microwave chocolate instead – use the 30 sec then stir, 30 sec and stir, and one last 30 sec and stir if needed. Always use glass or ceramic for microwaving.
  • In a bowl or medium measuring cup, add coconut cream. Whisk together till smooth.
  • Add a pinch of Himalayan salt if you like, optional.
  • Put in fridge for 4 hours or overnight. If you are in a hurry, 1 hour yet the frosting will not be as thick.
