Cashew Cheese Ball – vegan option – why should I be interested in vegan options? I love to have the cashew cheese ball option on my cheese plate option. It gives options, it is a healthy good fat alternative to milk cheese options, and it’s delicious!
Cashew Cheese Cheesy Flavor?
Cashew Cheese – uses nutritional yeast which is high in vitamin B!
Fermented food
It also has apple cider vinegar, a great fermented food.
Also there is an additional step that I sometimes do with cashew cheese if I have the time. That step is adding 1/4 tsp probiotics (powder or opening a probiotic pill) and letting cashew cheese and probiotic powder ferment in a warm place for 12 to 24 hours. Then putting it in the fridge to stop fermentation. This can be done after or before forming the Cashew Cheese Ball, Roll or Heart.

YumCashew Cheese Ball (heart)
Ingredients
- 1 cup raw soaked cashews soak at least 4-12 hours with cold water, OR soak in boiled water from kettle for 30 minutes.
- 1/2 tbsp nutritional yeast – heaping spoon
- 1/2 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1/2 tbsp water add small amounts more if needed.
- 1 clove garlic – minced 1-2 gloves depending on how much garlic you love!
- 1/2 tsp oregano, salt, thyme each OR dill, salt
- 1 tbsp plain yogurt (optional) use water if vegan
Optional ingredient and fermentation option
- 1/16 tsp probiotic powder (~40-50 billion active cells) or 1 probiotic capsule opened. OPTIONAL if doing this – add on fermentation of 12 to 24 hours of ball in a warm location. Then put in fridge.
