Any Fruit Chia Jam – Healthy Jam
At my last Cook it, Lively! zoom cooking class, I mentioned I would share how to make healthy chia jam. Fruit has fibre, lots of antioxidants and phytonutrients. Chia seeds are great fibre, omega 3’s and high in calcium, magnesium and potassium.
I have a few peaches that a bit bruised so I will use them for this recipe. You can use any fruit like raspberries, strawberries, cooked rhubarb, other berries, etc.
You can create baby food this way, from Yomi’s website it mentions to soak the chia seeds and that’s it’s safe for babies starting at 6-9 months. Check to see her blog for when your baby would be ready.
When you blend it, you will still see the chia seeds.
It is not as thick as regular jam and tends to get a bit thicker in the fridge.
You can freeze this jam up to 6 months which is perfect for over winter. Add the date that you made it on the container before freezing it.
