Orange Fennel Twist Appetizer or Dessert!

Dessert using orange, honey, fennel sauce meets whipped feta dip in an easy quick dough (2 ingredients). Simple healthy ingredients, very loved by all and is a delicious for any occasion; New Years, summer party, birthday, etc. This recipe can be gluten free substituting Bob’s Mill All-Purpose gluten free.Â
Make this Orange Fennel Feta Dip Twists! This Appetizer is such a hit, using the viral whipped feta dip mixed with green chiles in a easy dough twist. This recipe uses three of my past recipes – Easy Quick Dough, Cashew Cheese for Vegan option – I used this, it was so delicious! and Whipped Feta Dip.Â
MAKING THIS VEGAN!
To make this vegan or a new way to make the Whipped Feta Dip – use Cashew Cheese in place of plain yogurt. It’s super tasty in this recipe.
To make the dough – use a alternative yogurt source. To make it thicker consistency like Greek yogurt – strain it.Â
Serve this with other appetizers or as a dessert with Whipped Coconut Cream.
COCONUT WHIPPED CREAMÂ
1/2 tsp of vanilla and 1/2 tbsp of maple syrup for approximately 1/4- 1/3 cup of coconut cream (or use coconut milk put in fridge 8 hours or freezer for 1 hour – and take the solid part as coconut cream).

Nut-free – There’s no nuts or seeds (except for optional for added fiber in the dough), so this is great for someone with nut/ seed allergy.

Can be made ahead best 3 days ahead, up to 5 days. Stored in fridge. Can freeze for upto a month.Â
How to add the Feta Dip to the Easy Dough
Roll out Pizza Dough and add the Feta Dip to one side.

Orange Fennel Twist Appetizer
Equipment
- 1 food processor or some blenders may be able to do it, if not just add a little water
- 1 baking sheet
- 1 parchment paper
Ingredients
Make the Orange Zest Honey Water
- 1 tbsp orange zest
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1/2 tsp fennel or 1 star anise
- 2 cups water
Whipped Honey Feta with Cashew Cheese
- 1/2 cup cashew cheese you could use greek yoghurt
- 80 grams feta
- 1/2 tsp honey
- 2 tbsp orange honey water
2 Ingredient Dough
- 1 cup flour or gluten free flour
- 3/4 cup Greek yogurt or alternative plain yogurt
- 1 tbsp Greek yogurt or alternative plain yogurt
- 1/2 tbsp baking powder optional
- 1 tbsp grinded flax or chia seed optional – for added fiber!
Instructions
- Mix Dough in medium bowl.
- Make Orange Water, Boil for 10 min orange rinds, water, honey and fennel. Then strain the solids and use with a cheese plate appetizer. Add half the water to the Whipped Feta above and keep half to brush on twist
- In food processor whip all Whipped Feta Ingredients.
- Roll out dough – I do it on parchment paper with flour of choice so you can lift it off if you need to. And for baking.
- Put Whipped Feta with orange on half of the dough. Fold dough as pictures.
- Then cut in strips and twist slightly, not too much. Keep the goodness in.
- Brush on orange honey water onto top of dough twists. If you run out – melt some butter and brush remainder.
- Bake at 350 for 20-25 min – golden brown, little darker on edges
